The Recon-X: A Virtually Indestructible PDA

The Recon-X is not just any PDA, it's THE PDA to get if you have the tendency to break everything you put your hands on. It runs under Windows Mobile 5.0 and comes equipped with two CompactFlash slots, a built-in microphone, a color touchscreen, WiFi and Bluetooth. If you're looking for a tough Personal Digital Assistant , then the Recon-X would probably be one solution that would satisfy your needs.

  • Symbol makes a tough PDA too..

They looked tougher when they were all black and yellow too, but they went all elegant black last year...

We offer the PDA as a portable option for our software where I work. One marketing rep used to talk about how tough it was and then just drop it on the cement floor at trade shows...

The Recon X sounds like it might be tougher still, but I bet you'll have to pay a good bit more for a true military grade PDA...

  • Yeah, the symbol one looks pretty tough too. I Have no idea about how expensive the recon-x is, I've googled for it a bit, and didn't find anything. Apparently, you have to call a reseller to get a quote..

It's pretty funny how companies design their gadgets to make them look "rugged". Just put a big black rubber protective band around it, add a few touch of yellow and voila. :)
