Late Friday Fun: Bringing Tech. Obsession to a New Level (Video)

I don't think I've ever seen a kid, or anyone for that matter, react this way after receiving a gift. Have a great weekend everyone!

(via fixgadgets)

  • People have gotten WAY to obsessed with technology. I've even found myself in that type of perdicament.

  • I don't think I was even .1% as excited when I got my '64 for Christmas many years ago. Ah, the flower of youth.

By Blogger fuzzystone, at 5:14 PM

  • I can remember being excited about getting a video game console. But... geez!

By Blogger Tracy, at 7:04 PM

  • What really makes one a geek anyway? Do video games classify one being a geek?

By Blogger LapisDragon, at 10:22 PM

  • Lapis: Not really, it takes all sorts of things to be a geek, and please, do not confound a geek with a nerd.. :)

By Blogger Kiltak, at 10:26 PM

  • Last week my boss said I'm a total geek girl trapped in a hot body.

I agree with the geek part! I think it's a state of mind.

    Maybe geeks CAN be sexy.

Youtube rocks my world by the way!

  • personally, i think that kid is a spoilt brat, and most likely probably has ADHD as well!

  • nintendo 64 ! that's the matter. Little kid, i can comprend you, I feel the same when i was a child... xD

By Blogger Shiva, at 5:59 AM

  • That's really funny ahah

By Blogger Slash, at 8:58 AM

  • This isn't funny at all, just horribly annoying. Crazy kids, computers rule, consoles suck. Lol

By Blogger B.I.G.F.Y., at 9:18 AM

  • Oh, to be a kid again =)

By Blogger Chandra, at 12:33 PM

  • That's scary... and funny.

By Blogger El JuLiO, at 6:03 PM

  • Every time I watch video I crack up with the slowdowns. "NINTENDO SIXTY FOOOOOOOOUUUUUUUUR!" It was a good machine but when you are a hysterical person you should not play games. Also, notice how he thinks the remote controlled car is something to do with N64. I wonder how that kid is today.

By Blogger J, at 6:27 PM

  • Boy, when I got a N64 my reaction is absolutely nothing compared to this kid. Ahh, N64 nostalga...

By Blogger Teh life of..., at 9:40 PM

  • I do not think many technophilic kids would react this way. I could not find this funny. I think it was disturbing.

This kid is obviously copying the stereotypes on tv. It is only sad, nowadays, there are no good examples on tv to copy at all. :(

By Blogger Jeannie, at 1:51 AM

  • I am 25, a software engineer, and i bet, if i would have got PS2/PS3 as a Gift, i can even challenge them as far as getting EXCITED is concerned!! I am a biiiiiiiig geek ... i love technology. Kids expressions is quite predictable and deserving i suppose!

  • LOL Very cute and funny. I know the feeling from christmas days as a child. The excitement of what was waiting downstairs. Of course, the down side is that it teaches us very early on to be reliant on consumerism for our happiness (sorry to drag down the mood). Now few of us can be so happy just with simple things in life. We all want a NINTENDO SIXTY FOOOOOOUUUUUR!!!!, while other children in less developed parts of the world often seem more genuincally content with their friends, and a swim in a river. Like all things, there is a good and bad side to consumerism (steps down off soap box) :)

By Blogger Alexander, at 10:52 AM

  • So cute : )

By Blogger R2K, at 11:07 AM

  • good kid, is funy to see that, is really funy...

By Blogger morkaiser, at 1:55 PM

  • hilarious!!!!!!!!! love the slow down.
not sure i was quite that excited about my N64... maybe about my The Hulk real action figure.

By Blogger Nats Grant Logan, at 4:35 PM

  • Wow, I can't imagine ever being that excited for anything. I guess because I am a grown up. So sad.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 4:57 PM

  • Point a videocamera at any 8 year old during a period of hype and they'll probably react in the same way.

I guarantee though that were they not being watched, their reactions would have been far more subtle.

By Blogger sam991, at 7:55 PM

  • that video freaks me out... those two will grow up to be multi-credit card owning, spending fools :)

By Blogger salty, at 8:48 PM

  • Hey PuppyPrincess:

It couldn't be any simpler to post a video from you tube to your blog. Go to the video you want to post on YouTube and there is a small text field on the page labelled "embed" copy this whole snippet of code and paste it into blogger as HTML code.

Blogger will give you an annoying message saying that it doesn't like this kind of code but you can ignore it by clicking the check box below the message that says "ignore". Resubmit the post and it should post properly.

BTW: Thanks kiltak for the linking me as the source of the video.
