Ballmer and his Engineers Beaten by Spyware
Here's a rather funny story that was told at a Windows Vista Reviewers conference by Microsoft's platforms vice-president Jim Allchin about Steve Ballmer, the nice looking fellow you can see on the top right of this post.
It seems Steve was at a friend's wedding reception when the bride's father complained that his PC had slowed to a crawl and would Steve mind taking a look. Allchin says Ballmer, the world's 13th wealthiest man with a fortune of about $18 billion, spent almost two days trying to rid the PC of worms, viruses, spyware, malware and severe fragmentation without success.
The story goes on by explaining how Mr. Ballmer took the PC back at Microsoft's headquarter to have it checked by his top engineers, who weren't even able to fix it themselves. The article doesn't say if these guys used Microsoft's newest security offering, Windows Live OneCare, to fix the computer; it would have made bad publicity for the product if it did.
