  • These are, by and large, good reviews of some of the top players. One thing that I couldn't find easily as part of these reviews though....virus detection. Performance, features, and ease of use are all important, but the products' success at actually detecting and removing infections should be one of the top factors in rating these things. They're not there to be easy, pretty, and quickly running in your system. They're there to detect and remove viruses.

    For the record, I'm an AVG user.

  • Useful - my AV is just up for renewal so I'll be sure to pay attention. I was puzzled not to see Norton/Symantec on the list though. It's a pretty dominant product, which has had some shaky reviews in the past. It would have been interesting to see how CNET thought it measured up today.
