Behold: [Geeks are Sexy] is back!!!

The last 24 hours has been a real nightmare for us here at [Geeks Are Sexy].

It appears that the blog was targetted by blogger's automated spam classifying system, resulting in the removal of [Geeks Are Sexy] from the web.

But, because of a nice support person, we're back online, and apparently, this kind of thing will never happen again.

Thank you for your patience. It seems that your blog was mistakenly targeted by our automated spam classifying system. However, I have checked your blog and can verify that it complies with our Terms of Service. I was able to restore it to your account, so you should see it the next time you log in. I also cleared it for regular use so that this problem will not recur. Note that you will need to republish your blog in order for it to be visible online again.

We greatly apologize for any inconvenience this issue has caused.

Inconvenience?!? If that's not an understatement, then I'm a feathered pig!

  • Yikes! How can I find out if this has happened to my blog? Hits have been awfully low lately...

But then, my crappy content is probably to blame for that.

  • Spook: your profile is private, how do you want us to visit you if you don't let your blog be seen in your profile? :)

  • YEY! We were wondering what happened :)

  • You guys should think about hosting your blog on your own domain! It's a well-known tactic - some idiot fills out a spam report and your blog gets taken down.

    Welcome back anyway!

  • Moving to our own domain was at least briefly considered. If Blogger had been unable to get the site back, there would've been no question that we would've abandoned this and moved to a different platform.

But moving now wouldn't be a simple business. The blog is back, and shouldn't be eaten by Blogger's spam killer in the future (so they say). This means that there'd be some pretty intense content migration to do (including images uploaded to the Blogger servers). Plus we'd lose our page-ranking, peoples' bookmarks would die, and all sorts of other uncoolness.
