Panasonic announced today that it has developed a prototype of a 103-inch plasma display panel (PDP) with 1080p (progressive) HDTV resolution. The prototype can deliver more than two million pixels (1,920 x 1,080) of performance.
Plasma displays definitely has some advantages over LCD displays when we're talking about picture quality. Apart from better contrast related to its ability to show deeper blacks, plasma screens also have better viewing angles than LCD.
