Good news for Windows XP Home users

If you guys read this blog everyday (shame on you if you don't), you'll remember that I wrote a blog entry last week about the fact that Windows XP Home mainstream support would be ending on January 1, 2007.

"Since XP home falls under the consumer category, it will not qualify for the additional years of support when Vista comes out. What does this mean? Mainstream support for XP home will be ending on January 1, 2007 (If Vista is released before the end of 2006)."

It seems that Microsoft reconsidered the situation and decided to add 2 additional years of support to Windows XP home. While being at it, they also extended the Mainstream Support lifespan of other products like Media Center Editions 2002, 2004, 2005 and XP Tablet edition.
